HKUAA Visit to Geospatial Lab (地理空間實驗室) under HK Development Bureau 發展局 (28 Feb 2025 Sat pm)
香港地理空間實驗室（ GeoLab ）由發展局 (Hong Kong Development Bureau) 成立，旨在支持智慧城市發展。它由東華三院運營，為用戶提供培訓、工作坊、比賽和物理空間，供用戶利用空間數據開展項目。
它配備了先進的技術和設施，可幫助用戶探索使用 3D 地圖進行無人機送貨或分析社會經濟數據以選擇新業務地點等想法。地理空間實驗室是 利用先進技術和培訓設施促進空間數據使用的物理空間和平台。
這些實驗室舉辦研討會、競賽和講座，鼓勵學生、初創公司和公眾探索如何使用基於位置的數據為“智慧城市”開發創新應用程序、提高生活質量並創造商機。他們通常提供工作空間、輔導和雲服務等資源。
核心功能
促進空間數據的使用：主要目標是提高公眾對空間數據及其應用的興趣和理解。
培育社區：它們是年輕人、初創企業和創意人才分享想法和開發項目的社區中心。
支持創新：它們為實驗項目提供工具和支持，例如涉及地理信息系統 (GIS) 的項目。
鼓勵教育：他們為學生舉辦教育活動，以培養他們在地理空間技術及其應用方面的技能。

Administratino Fee for event : $20 for administration fee per head (The visit itself is free of charge)
No refund is allowed after payment, except when the visit event is cancelled by organizer or HKUAA.
Important Points to note before registration
- No payment is required when you fill on the sign-up form for registration.
- Only the shortlisted applicants (e.g., first 30 applicants or those on waiting list later on) will be notified by HKUAA place offer notification email for payment (either by receipts of payme or bank deposit) later on.
- Late or no payment after place offer notification email will lead to withdrawal of the places automatically after payment deadline is reached.
- Places will be assigned based on the time the application is made with full information and right method.
- Only applicants with full payment receipt sent after receiving place offer notification email will be followed by formal place confirmation email well before the date of visit.
- HKUAA will not inform those unsuccessful applicants without any place offer or place confirmation later on by any forms.
- NO walk-in visit on the day is allowed.
