CHRISTMAS CAROLING 2025 Recruitment Circular VARIATION ON AN ORIGINAL THEME Dear Alumni Member, Coming December we will celebrate Christmas together singing and performing carols selected from John Rutter's “100 Carols for Choirs” (please refer to the song lists attached)! Christmas caroling may be an “original theme” but the “variation” will be a matinee show to be staged at the Cafe 1951, 14th Floor KK Leung Bldg., HKU that will include canape’s and beverages! In our 12 years of choir performances it was rare for us to return to the campus we know so well. Moreover we plan to have a celebration dinner right after the performance sampling the western cuisine on offer at the Cafe 1951. Dr. Lesley Chan and Ms. Florence Ng will be our guest of honor at the event. Mr. Wallace Ng will lead and practice with the choir this season while Mr. Kenneth Ma will be the accompanist. Details of the Event: Matinee show: December 7, 2025 Sunday Starting time: 3:00pm, food and beverage will be served from 3:00-6:00 pm. The actual time of performance to be confirmed later. Venue of performance: HKU Campus, Cafe 1951 , 14th/F KK Leung Bldg. Rehearsal schedule: 1st rehearsal September 20, 2025 (newcomers will take audition by Wallace) September 27 October 4,11,18,25 November 1,8,15,22,29 December 6 ( last rehearsal ) A total of 12 rehearsals Rehearsal venue: 1st floor M88, 2-8 Wellington St. Central Rehearsal time: 1:30-3:00pm (we can start using the premises at 1:00pm for sectional practice) Subscription fee: $1080 per person, ( 50% discount for HKU 1st degree holders from 2020). Ticket price will include the matinee show plus F&B 3:00-6:00pm (no alcoholic drinks) FREE of charge for performers. Ticket price for guests to be advised later. Celebration dinner charge per person to be advised later.
